My name is Lamont Riley, I was born and raised in Seattle and I'm the owner of A League Like No Other. This business is something that I couldn't have asked for simply because in my earlier years I was living a different lifestyle from the one I'm blessed to live today. To make a long story short I had my run-ins with the law and I got tired of living that lifestyle so one day I was approached by a person asking me if I wanted to go back to school and I said no, I'd had enough of the first 12 years. But they insisted on asking me more questions and telling me about the school which was for business and graphics. So I continued to listen because I always liked art plus I was into music and had an interest in how cd covers were designed. So I took the paper they handed me with the information telling me a little bit more in detail and continued. Later that night I read it and was thinking maybe now is my chance to do something more than what I was doing. So that next following Monday, I called and set up an appointment and got registered not too long afterward. I was excited about going back to school for the first time. But, shortly after enrolling about 3 or so months, the school had closed down and I was right back to where I started. And one day I was on the computer just messing around with PowerPoint which was one of the programs they were teaching us and I noticed that I was coming up with so ok designs. So I kept at it and in the midst of me designing I thought maybe that I could maybe do t-shirts. Now keep in mind these designs were just the starting point. I didn't know that you can use more than just the fonts that the computer came with or did I know anything about photoshop etc. We went through a couple of name changes such as 105ths Special Edition, which is where I lived, the other was Deshane & Demetri which are the names of both my sons and one day it just came to me when I wasn't thinking about it, A League Like No Other. So I'd say 2013 is when the name came about and 2017 is when we were introduced to the marketplace after going to a business school in the south end of Seattle, which gave me the basic foundations I needed to get started. Remember we're all different and unique and in a league of our own, so always be yourself is what we encourage as you dress for success in whatever you decide for yourself in life.
